Chevy Volts' New Styling

I thought it would be interesting to hear a few opinions on the newly released pictures. I like the new design, but I hope the concept vehicle's shape comes back in some form in the future; maybe as a gas vehicle if the styling is not practical for electric drive. Any thoughts?

I like the actual styling WAY more than the concept.

Same here! Actually might buy one if it is reasonable and does what they say it will.

the ad in today's local paper says $30-40k, and 40 miles on a single charge for a cost of about $.80. i will most likely buy one when they show up at the chevy dealer in november 2010.

Re: Chevy Volts' New Styling

Ouch. $30-$40 grand is steep.

As I often tell folks, I can buy lots of gas with that car payment I'm not making. Too bad that's so.

Yes, that's too steep for me too. Initially it will be a statement car for the people who need to let you know that they are doing their part in saving the planet. Eventually prices for these kinds of cars will drop. 10-20 years they will have the price to a point where it is very competitive with traditional engines, at that point they will start phasing out production of the gas only engine vehicles. Least that's what I'm thinking.

I love the Tron inspired lights. Other than that it looks like a Civic with a Malibu grille.

looks like a $18k-$22k car. i'd rather drive something nicer and have the extra $10k-$20k for gas.

$40k American Civic?

Hahahaha. Oh how today's auto industry makes me chuckle. I'd rather walk to where I need to go then be caught in that fugly thing.

To me it looks like a matronly Malibu that's out of shape, and I know what out of shape looks like, up close and personal.
