The ZR-7 looks pretty sweet! I used to have a 88 Hurrican 600, sold that a few years ago and got this 86 Honda VT1100

I rode the Aprilia for over 4 hours yesterday with only one break. It is a blast! It will be going back to the owner shortly. Here is what will be taking it's place in my garage (2002 BMW R 1150 R) another "loaner":

I can't wait to run this on the highway and see how it feels.

Ah put a 4 banger in it and it might be a decent bike. The way it is now my daughter might like it!

The Honda RC51 is a V-Twin, and smokes most other 1 litre 4 cylinder sport bikes. The Aprilia was faster then anything else I rode. I'm sure it could have taken out a ZX-10R or CBR1000RR.

Doesn't matter whats out there now, V-twins are nothing but girlie bike engines. Its like comparing a 3 cylinder metro to a Austin Martin 12.

You must be right. All the moto GP Championships that have gone to Aprilia and Ducati of late must have been because Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, and Suzuki let them win because they felt bad they only had 2 cylinders to their 4.

That's like saying a Vette is a better car then a Porshe my friend. What 'cha got between the footpegs? |

No actually, that is your argument. The Corvette has raw acceleration, the 911 handles like on rails. Your point assumes the Vette is better as it has a V-8, to the 911's H-6.
A V-Twin has more torque, a I-4 usually revs higher. In the world of Moto GP, the Japanese I-4's have taken a beating recently at the hands of Italian V-Twins. I gave the Aprilia back to my buddy, and now have his 2003 BMW R 1150 R, which is a H-2. Not as fast as my ZR-7, but so comfortable and esy to ride. |

I think you are more familier with the 90 degree V-Twins in Harley's that shake your guts out. The Aprilia V-Twin is 60 degrees.
Anyway, I'm now in love with this: |

60 degrees does a heck of a lot more shake rattle and rolling than a inline 4 does. I'll give Aprilla (or shall we say Vespa) one thing. That new 750 Shiver lookes quite nice! Get rid of the crappy decals and BMW sticker price then it might even be something to take home! |

HD is a 45deg v-twin. The newer models are counterbalanced and no longer shake, rattle or roll

I got to ride a H-D 1200 Sportster S and it was a decent ride, with not alot of shake. Not sure what year it was. The BMW is so smooth it's almost scary. At 90mph she is only turning like 3.5k or so. She was definatley built with autobahn cruising in mind. I have now ridden my single & I-4, a Yamaha YZF-R6 I-4, the Aprilia V-Twin, the H-D V-Twin, and the BMW H-2, and all have thier own character. I like the ride of the BMW the best so far.
