ALT about to die?
Hey team, the classic lights are coming on indicating alternator failure.
When I rev the engine or run at high speed the lights go off. Just wondering if there is something else wrong.... Loose wire mod, battery, etc? Thrill me with your acumen. (Lektor). BTW Battery shows full charge on meter. A

Check the voltage on the battery when the car is off. Check the battery when the car is running. The voltage should be higher when it's running. Also check the voltage on both ends of the wire comming out of the Alternator.

Also...do you headlights or dash lights have any type of flicker? Every car I had with an alternator going bad the headlights and or dash lights will sometimes become dimmer due to loss of power. I just know its one of the tell tale signs of an alternetor or battery problem! |

Could be a loose connection with the alternator plug or else the diodes in the alternator are fried.
Getting the alternator tested would be best. I also recommend running a volt meter to monitor the alternator's activities. I use a volt meter in the cig lighter. It tells me the actual volts and not just the warning lights.

If I post the answers again, there will again be comments regarding repetition. All is filed in my locker, please help yourself.
A DC voltmeter will not indicate AC on line, which is the cause of your flashing indication lights. At high alternator RPM the frequency of the unwanted AC will have increased, hence what you have observed.
