I saw on a page somewhere that the kinetic concepts site was down for maintenance. They said that all orders would be filled though and that they were still operationg, so not to worry. Sounded like web server problems or something dealing with just the site. Didn't have an estimate as to when the site might be back up though.

Hope this Helps!

Checking on Kinetic Concepts Website Status

In April, Jacob at Kinetic Concepts created a "temporary" message board on Yahoo (http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/kineticconceptstemporary). In the posts, he states how his website hosting company lost data while moving his site from one computer to another.

Attempts were made to restore the lost data but they were unsuccessful. The data lost was from the message board and the orders database. Kinetic Concepts had its own backup of the order database so no orders were lost but it sounds like the message board was not salvaged.

I have sent an e-mail to Jacob to see what his plans are for the site and if he would agree to at least send me the content from his site for SubaruSVX.com if he has no plans to revive it.

I'll let you know how/if he responds.

I too noticed that KC was down, and at the time I couldn't even connect to the temporary board on Yahoo Clubs.

Must be some sort of financial or legal issues?

Keep us posted.

Unhappy KC not OK

I talked with Jacob at Kinetic Concepts and he told me that Kinetic Concepts is no longer in business. The data loss caused by their web hosting service was just one more reason to close up shop. Kinetic Concepts was barely making a profit and that doesn't take into consideration all the hours that were spent designing the products they sold. What was once a labor of love became a burdon so they decided to end it.

The good news is that Jacob still owns an SVX and does not want the helpful information that was on his site to go to waste. He is going to try to find a backup of the site to send to me. I can then post the content on SubaruSVX.com.

He also agreed to share information on how and where the KC products were manufactured. He said the air filters were a hit but many of the other items they offered didn't sell well. So you may be able to buy KC air filters on SubaruSVX.com in 2002.
