Summer Mountain Meet?

First of all I have to say that I've been a member of this site for almost a year now. Haven't posted that much, just don't feel the need to type every stupid thought that comes into my head. I appear to be the exception.

What I'm trying to say is the only place were I can find intelligent posts is here in the NW Forum.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a trip next summer through the rockies in BC & AB.

I can show you incredible mountain passes, glaciers, and wildlife galore. Including good spots to get up close to Glizzlies and get fantastic pics.

I believe seasvx has been through parts of BC and knows what I'm talking about.

It's an idea it wouldn't take me much time to orginize and it would be an unforgetable trip.

Please let me know if anyone is interested.

Thanks,

Scott

Troy makes us take a basic manners and intelligence test before he'll let us join the NW club (I hope to become a member someday). Actually, I find the stupid thoughts somewhat entertaining, it's the hostile ones that get tiresome.

I'd love a guided tour of the Canadian wilderness, although I'm a bit hesitant to get my car anywhere near a bear (uhoh, I knew I should've done that alternator mod, anyone got jumper cables? anyone? hello?).

Unfortunately, there may be a scheduling conflict, although it would solve your first complaint. One of our local members thought we could spend this summer on a cross-country trip, where we would visit certain chronically irritating network members and slam their hands in our doors, rendering them unable to type. Originally, we had only planned on visiting one person, but recently it seems we may need to add to our itinerary. We were hoping that this could be a panregional event, on the same scale as Reading.

Seriously, I'd like to take you up on your tour offer. I've never ventured past Vancouver/Victoria, and I'm always looking for an excuse to use up huge amounts of film on my car.

I apologize if I sound weird in this post, I can't really tell, but I think headache medication makes me a little stranger than usual.

Sounds like an excellent idea to me! I've never been anywhere in Canada east of Vancouver area so that would be great.

The only possible conflict I see is that most of us are already planning on attending the big Reno meet in June. For some of us that is going to use up most of our vacation time and a lot of miles on our high mileage cars.

I still say go for it though, there are some that will do both and some that may be too far north to consider Reno that would love this idea as an alternative.

Yea I know what your talking about. I'm planning on going to Reno myself.

The whole trip through the mountains idea was just me thinking out loud. It wouldn't neccessarily be next year. It's something I do about every August, and I was thinking it would be nice to bring some people with me to maybe see some thing they haven't seen before.

Yeah I say if you plan on doing this year regardless, and you don't mind some company, might as well set it up as a meet. If you do, I will promote it on the NW site in upcoming meets and all that too.

Even if you only got a couple this year, we can always do it again next year too. I'm sure a lot of people even from back east would be interested in seeing some of this territory.

We could always try smuggling you across. I'll take out my spare tire and you can hide in my trunk.
