The problem with the monotone paint is that Subaru picked the ugly colors for it. The mono Silver is sharp, and I'm holding judgement on the mono Seamist until I see one in person. But all the others I've seen are just plain ugly. Like I said, my favorite new paint is the two-tone Black Mica over Onyx Metallic. With that paint and the new wheels on the Beans, I think it's the sportiest looking Outback yet.

As for the engine, I drove a '99 with the 2.5L, and I thought it was "adequate", so I think the H-6 should be a good fit.

I've never seen a Black Mica over Onyx Metallic outback, but I saw that combo when I drove the pre-production baja's and it was amazing!
