Is the car in the Philly area?

If so there will be dozens of SVXs and enthusiasts driving around the area this weekend. We will be centered around Reading, about an hour away.

I'd be happy to come see it and look it over for you and I'm sure others would as well, if it can be arranged. It might help with the negotiations if the seller sees fifty SVXs swarming in to look it over

Quick off the subject question...How is the stock sound system/cd player in the car? I was just reading some site about someone's opinion on them...
I love the stock system. The only issue is that the speakers will eventually get brittle and tear. There are many posts about good replacement speakers. I see no need to replace the stock stereo/CD player. It gets good reception, goes loud enough to hurt my ears and looks great.

I bought a $15 FM modulator at Best Buy that allows me to listen to my portable MP3 player (or hands free cell phone kit) through the car stereo. It broadcasts a stereo signal that your radio can pick up on a selectable frequency.

Doug, yea, actually it is. I live in Philly near Franklin Mills Mall (if you're familiar with it)...and where he lives, Bucks County, is about 10-15 minutes from me. That would be really cool. Haha. I bet 50 SVXs in a apartment complex parking lot would really intimidate.

I think that would be a great outing!

Anyone else want to come along if she can arrange it? I know Lwin wants to. He'll drive hours to look at an SVX

Hehe, it would be really cool if a couple or few of you could. I am seeing it in person tonight then I was supposed to go Thursday night to talk to him and make a deal...Thing is, the car is on Ebay...I think the auction ends Saturday and I thought making a deal Thursday would be better because he would take the auction down. Hm....A predicament.

Come on Lwin, you know you want to go! Getting there is no problem as several members will be passing near Chicago.

Stacey,

I can look at the car (SVX ) with you after Easter. I work in Conshocken so the Franklin Mills area isn't too far. I can do it some night after work. In the meantine get the VIN Number and run a check on it. To run a diagnostic on the check engine light to get the codes is only $50 for OBD II at my favorite Suby dealership in Newtown Square. For a 92 you can get the codes yourself, and the code meanings are posted here.
Good Luck.

A quick and easy fix for the headlights is just to take some scratch remover (I use Eagle One) and rub it into the headlights just with your fingers. This takes out all the haze. It's not going to look as drastic as Lwin's method but it's still a big difference.

David,

If I go to reading with my car, chances are it will break down on the way to the meet and I will end up getting another SVX.

I am trying to prevent getting another SVX. Not that I dont want one. Currently, I am trying very hard to control the bank account and I am missing deals on SVXes (with the right colour).

I didn't say to take your car, I suggested hitching a ride with another member.

If I do that, I'll come back with another SVX.

Stacey,
You really do your homework, don't you! (I trust you're that enthusiastic about your classes. )
The current cars you're seeing not only look like a better (safer) deal than you would get here, but they're a lot more convenient for you. As much as I would like to see the local claret (pics in my Locker, guys/gals) go to someone who would love it, and get Teresa out from under her burden, I think the ones you're looking at are probably more suitable for you.
For me the chase was always more exciting than ownership - until I got my SVX. Enjoy the chase, pursue your dream, and then relish the outcome.
Happy shopping.

Wow, thanks. I'll have to try that. If I get the car by then, I'll bring it up.
