Question clogged cat?

what would symptoms of a clogged cat/pre cat?

my car has a loss of power, wrx sound from the tail pipes, and smoke coming from the cats (excessive heat melting the undercarriage)

no rotten egg smell, no rattling from any of the cats, no CEL.

O2 sensor? clogged cat?

Re: clogged cat?

I believe I've heard that timing jumping a few teeth can cause similar symptoms.

Re: clogged cat?

I heard the same, check under the hood after a nighttime drive and look for a red header.

Re: clogged cat?

I think I have the same problem with my pre-cat my car has the same symptoms. I have a leak in mine so my pre-cat has a hole in it.

I have a check engine light of OB2 P0136 and P0141

Re: clogged cat?

well i figured out what made the car run like crap...bad coil...which on #4. runs like a champ. i'll have to check later to see if the exhaust gets hot like before. i pulled all cats out and checked them, all seem to be fine and i dont hear any rattling. so hopefully it was just the coil. i have a spare motor laying around so i pulled the coil i needed off it.
