Re: Brittle hoses under Intake manifold

The information in this thread is great, I am planning on replacing all those lines and will be taking the manifold off this weekend. I already ordered and received

I was unsure how much I would need so I bought couple different sizes in hopefully long enough lengths.

Re: Brittle hoses under Intake manifold

So... I was hoping to have the car back together today but I found another broken nipple (go figure!).

If anyone has part 16103AA010 Tank surge let me know. Driving a truck around is killing me in gas

See picture below. It the the black Square box.

Re: Brittle hoses under Intake manifold

so small update for anyone who might read this down the road.

I fixed it all, special thanks to Rob and Jackie from Annapolis Subaru.

Word of advice. While the pre-bent hoses are somewhat expensive, if you happened to break the hoses that go to the "AUX AIR " sensor (forgive me for not remembering the correct name, it contains 2 u bends ) you'll appreciate them. Same goes for the PCV hoses. Spend the few dollars if you want to save yourself some blood and get the pre-bent hoses. Yes you can run cut to length hoses but I had one hell of a time running them.

As it stands the SVX is back up and running and after some driving (a few miles of hot / cold driving). It seems to be running alright. It idled weird at first but I imagine that is due to almost a month of not running. I never knew how fast I could throw a wrench across a garage until now. Could someone also answer that damn phone?

Also no fuel leaks that I can see (I removed the metal lines to the fuel rails that are connected to metal vacuum lines). I did this for a reason but can't remember now, might be related to the nice knot on the side of my head.
