Some News

Hello Everyone,

It is with mixed emotion that I am selling my SVX.* My grandmother went into a nursing home last week and is dying and my grandfather is giving me money towards buying a brand new car.** I hate giving up my beloved SVX but we don’t have room to keep it and I can’t pass up on a new car as I will need it to commute to college next year.** My grandfather took me shopping this week and we are going to order a new Scion TC.

If anyone on the forum wants it for 3200 I will sell it to them for that amount plus give you an extra set of slicer rims with tires that have around 7k miles on them and the proper 97 grill in addition to the waterfall grill I have on it.* The car I am going to order will be here in about 7 days so the offer stands till then or it is being traded in.

*The SVX has a less than 2 year old battery, cross drilled and slotted brakes that have ceramic pads that have around 3k miles on them.** It also has gold BBS rims with tires that have around 2k miles on them I got right before Reading.*

The car had extensive work on it before I got it and I changed the transmission, power steering and radiator fluids.** We had the plugs, MAF and PCV changed last September.*** Both catalytic converters, oxygen and knock sensors were changed at 101k miles in 2008.* The AC works great.* It also has the high output alternator and wiring that I will give with the car if it goes to someone on the forum.* I won it at Reading but haven’t installed it yet.* If it goes to trade in I will send the alternator back per the terms of the raffle.

The bad on the car is that it has a rough idle.* It seems to run fine other than stalling on me 1x but the idle is rough.* When it stalled it started right back up.* The odd thing is that the idle is better when the AC runs.*** I would like it to go to an enthusiast rather than just end up on a used car lot.* My father says we have to trade it in vs. sell it on Craigslist etc… because he doesn’t want to be bothered dealing with someone who doesn’t know what it is.
If you buy it, it will be “as is” and my dad will have some paperwork on that for you to sign.* In addition, you have to make an effort to go to Reading if you can and be mean to Landshark when he posts.* (that includes you Landshark).* I am hoping to still go to Reading next year with Uncle John and my dad as I love these cars.* If we had the space to keep it we would but we have too many cars and my dad already parks on the grass.
If you are interested I will send you a copy of the list of work done to the car since 87k miles I have.* The car has a clean title.*

Re: Some News

im sorry to hear about your grandmother, happy you will be getting a new car and sad you will be getting rid of the svx,
I wish I could get it but I hope whoever does will treat it well.

I wonder if the idle issue is the idle control valve, a/c increases idle so that might be why it runs better with it on.

Re: Some News

Sorry to here about your grandmother. I know you like the SVX, one idea is that you could keep your SVX and ask your Grandfather to put 10 grand in maintenance and repair account for you. Just a thought.

If you end up trading it in, you should remove the BBS wheels first. Those are easily sold especially with the new tires on them.

Thank You. I am not sure what is wrong with the car. I never really bothered to get it looked at or fixed because the car always ran fine.

My school does have a Cosmetology program, but senior year might be a little late to switch in

Seriously though, Thank You.

Thank You. The fund would be awesome, but they will only let me use it towards the new car. They like my car but resent it because they have some weird thing against used cars

The dealer is actually going to be offering me a really decent price, close to what I am asking. If I took off the rims then the value would decrease and it would be a pain selling them. I think I may actually get more out of the car with the rims on at the dealer. If they were going to lowball me though, slicers for them!

Today, my grandpa asked me if it was Turbo, so I told him no then he asked why it is faster than my moms turbo car

Uncle John, I sent you an e-mail back. I will finish that up tomorrow. Thanks for taking the time to fill it out
