Re: My Pearly... Now with M04r w1n

It was a yellow wire sol. C. I did get to installing the switch yesterday which has opened the diff by not sending any pulsewidth to the solenoid. Yes it throws a code... but at least it is not binding anymore.

I will be most interested to hear about your driving impressions
What final gear are you running?

Re: My Pearly... Now with M04r w1n

Next up on the VTD list... me. Waiting to get that uber secret TCU of awesomeness.

Tom, couldn't you just pull the front shafts too, leave the nubs in and run it RWD.

p.s. I can't wait to be VTD!! Mine's a 4.11, so I kinda sorta have high hopes. I got my trans cooler/fan/thermostat this week and LAN shipped my built VB. Should be a heck of a drive!

Pulling the shafts you lose your ability to park with the parking prawl... I am not looking to keep it RWD either. I am also awaiting the correct TCU for it to function properly... In which case the RWD switch will be removed

Those are the numbers I have heard as well. I think I've read 36/64 before as well. Somewhere in that region anyhow.

Re: My Pearly... Now with M04r w1n

yes that is about right... The fact of the matter is, it is an open mechanical diff... Without severe delta from the front/rear the rear will see mostly all of it though

I would love to have that on my car. I prefer the RWD handling characteristics.

Re: My Pearly... Now with M04r w1n

Was this issue ever resolved, if so how? Is a TCU swap a solution or maybe a reflash? I know Toms not around much anymore. Any help is appreciated, all options welcome.

What issue exactly?
A few JDM VTD transmissions have been installed. You just need to have a matching TCU to the C solenoid as they reversed the signal sometime in the production run. I believe in 94 or 95.

It might be best if you read the whole thread. Slight binding, Need for some switch, TCU Codes for C solenoid.

Re: My Pearly... Now with M04r w1n

I hope I didn't come across as being sarcastic. I don't know that much about the VTD. I'm posting this for a friend, he bought Tom's SVX a while ago, and would like to get the codes cleared up. Nate you said the VTD is JDM, Only? Sounds to me the best solution would be a JDM TCU. Would that mean a JDM ECU would also be necessary? What did you do with your swaps to get it functioning properly?
