Re: Converting FWD to AWD Denver area and $
The cost for a shop to do it is going to be outragious... If you have a few buddies that have some mechanical knowhow and have access to a lift or at least some high extending jackstands, it can be done in the driveway. (a normal shop is going to run well over $1k in labor to do something like this, if not more.)
For the FWD to AWD conversion you will need an AWD Subaru transmission with matching rear differential gear ratio('90-'98 Auto), the ENTIRE AWD SVX rear subframe assembly including the hubs/axles/etc., A TCU from an AWD SVX, and of course the driveshaft. |

Re: Converting FWD to AWD Denver area and $
Yeh this could be an expensive conversion I bet you could find a whole AWD SVX for what it will end up costing you to convert.

Tom, an AWD trans/ AWD TCU won't plug and play in a fwd chassis?
