underhood wiring diagram?

hi folks!

i've tried searching the site to no avail...i need to see a copy of the underhood wiring diagram...

i have a moderately thick black wire with a red stripe at the rear-centre of the engine directly above the trans/engine mating surface...

it is broken and i cant find where it goes! (it appears to have had a "ring end" connector that has broken off )

i have just removed all the a/c stuff underhood (likely how the wire was broken )

i also found a failed harmonic balancer, which i replaced with a stock unit.

upon reassembly of everything, the car wont start...grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there is power to the starter solenoid and when i cross the poles, the starter spins, but the solenoid wont engage the gear to the engine...

this broken wire reaches the starter easily enough...but i dont see the remnants of a broken ring-end connector on the starter....

when i turn the key, the starter doesnt even spin...NOTHING happens at the starter, but EVERYTHING else in the car appears to work fine...

i tried in park and neutral to no avail either....

ive checked all fuses/relays/ the fusible link/ connections between alternator/battery/starter......

helppppppppppppppp!!!!!!!!!!!!

thank u for your time

rob

Re: underhood wiring diagram?

That sounds like an engine/chassis ground......

You can find a diagram in the link in my signature either by viewing it on the web or downloading it and opening the .pdf labeled "system wiring diagrams". Hope it helps!

Re: underhood wiring diagram?

yeah...i figured as such...thanks!!

i figured out my no-start trouble...the wire had slipped off the spade lug on the solenoid and i hadnt noticed....D'OH !!!

right with the black wire i mentioned is a broken ground wire bolted to the firewall...it is unplugged and would SEEM like it should match up with the broken black/red...but it doesnt ...
weird...

ps...error 404 file not found...dang !!!
linky no worky at this time...
