My Squirrel is shy lately....

So, I have a problem with my automatic seatbelt on my drivers side.

The past week it has been hit or miss on whether it would buckle me in. I will go get in the car one morning and the door and the belt just stays there, the indicator on my dash shows the door shut, but has the seatbelt icon flashing. I can manually pull the belt a little ways down and when I open the door it will pull it back forward, but shut the door and nothing happens. I will drive to work and on my lunch break, surprise! it works again! then going home it doesn't work.....

No matter what I have done, wiggling, shutting, banging, I can never get it to work again, just letting it sit is what (sometimes) works. When it does work, I can open and close the door over and over and it keeps working, the motors SEEMS strong and quick as ever, I am puzzled.

Does anyone know where the electrical wiring goes to/from the seatbelt or where the motor actually is?

Does it have its own fuse somewhere?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: My Squirrel is shy lately....

The motor is behind the wall panel in the back seat. It's pretty easy to get to, I found how-to stuff for most of the interior by searching. Mine came with the motor disconnected and no explanation. My roommate built me a crazy brick of relays with inputs from the door open switch, ignition, and a constant which replaced the original harness. Yes there's a fuse in there as well. Worked like a charm ever since. I've read that some people just wire it up to the power window switch and control it manually. These silly systems get squirrely fairly often.
