Keyless entery Questions.

1st off what are the wires that are popping out of the keyless entery unit?
The orange and yellow ones?
would I have any problems arise if I remove the keyless entery?
I never use it any way lol
Thanks

My wife and I find the keyless entry feature absolutely excellent. It was used to very good effect a couple of days ago, when the keys were mistakenly left in the car. Also great if we are separated and the one without the keys, wishes to get back into the car.

It looks like someone has been messing about with yours, prior to you getting the car. If you can locate and bridge the inhibit circuit, there is no reason why you should not remove it.

Cheers, Trevor.

Re: Keyless entry Questions.

Yes, those wires are definitely not stock. When you find out what's at the the other end, let us know

Or if you're curious enough to open up the module and see where the wires are connected, we might be able to help determine what it is they're connected to.

I wonder if a previous owner added an "unlock" button, similar to what newer years have. That's just one of many things you would have access to on that harness (although connecting the wires inside the module is a little odd).

It could perhaps be related to an aftermarket alarm (which may no longer be present).
