4.44 transmission id number
I remember seeing a forum awhile back on how to identify a 4.44 trans. i was curious if anyone could help me identify if I received a 4.44 trans for my car the id is TZ102Z1CAA-DG. Because after 2500 miles the front diff went and it binding up and crunching.

Re: 4.44 transmission id number
Wait, you had a tranny in the car that only lasted 2500 miles and you're concerned that it broke because it wasn't the right ratio to match a 4.44 rear end or something?
If you put the wrong ratio gearbox in the car for matching the rear-end, it wouldn't fail in 2500 miles, it'd fail in more like 2.5 miles. I had a 4.44 tranny w/ a 4.11 rear end on my car and we knew it was wrong in less than 10 feet of backing out of the lift stall!
