Dude, I definitely will!! But I won't be able to make it to any until next summer... I am going to try and drive up there for Reading... But that is really up in the air since I will have to leave RIGHT AFTER I get Commissioned in the Army on the 17th of April...

Wow, best of luck with the army. You had a nice SVX from the nasioc video that I can't find now. Thanks for serving our country. Good Luck,

Re: A sad announcement from GreenMarineSVX...

Thanks

I'll get more pictures when the temperature isn't in the 20's outside ...

Oh, my fuel mileage for the first two tanks is...

18.6mpg and 15.5mpg

And I haven't even had much of a lead foot either! I mean a few times I'll get on it, but for the most part I am driving around trying to stay out of boost ... I think it's mainly due to the ultra rich tune though.

20 degrees? That would be a heat wave here, it just finally hit 20 today after not being above 0 since friday.

I don't think I would ever be able to not put my foot down with a car like that. Congrats on the new ride.

Haven't had a lead foot?

Remember, it only gets rich when that needle goes +psi.

I can't say much though, I have yet to get more than 150 miles out of the first 1/2 of a tank in the SVX. Motor just sounds so good I can't quit throttle blipping all the time.

Haha... Well I just got back from Greensboro a few hours ago... 151 miles on 1/2 a tank so far... I'm going to try to stay COMPLETELY out of boost for the rest of the tank and see if it makes a difference... You are definitely right about it going rich in positive manifold pressure... I noticed something surprisingly interesting tonight on my way back. I set the cruise control at 70mph and just relaxed. At some point in the journey I found myself looking at the Exhaust Temperature gauge... I noticed that in most of the "-" manifold pressure the temperature was hovering right around 1,450*F... However when I would get on the gas temporarily to pass someone, the temperature would drop below 1,400*F... Is this because of the added fuel being injected into the engine under load? I also noticed a similar thing happen when I came to a hill with the cruise engaged... Again, this must be related to the running extremely rich under boost...

There is also a theory as to how Dayle (or whoever tuned it) was able to get such a massive Tq number but relatively "low" Hp... Run lots of boost, very aggressive timing and then adjust the AFR's very rich to keep it safe... Am I bang on there? ... I'd been doing some reading on tuning Forced Induction motors in my spare time

That's exactly why you see that change. The car runs fairly lean at cruise, but as soon as you start getting into the throttle and especially when you get into boost, it gets nice and rich.

A lot of the torque is just simply the turbo. It's just got a lot of punch when it comes on, mainly because of how quickly it reaches full spool.

On another note - we just made it back from a few Days in Charleston. We took the SVX, which was mostly without problems...

The Right side HID low beam wasn't working from the get-go, checked connectors, no dice. Last night the Left HID low beam went out. Drove back to the hotel with the highs (amazingly nobody flashed their lights at me). For whatever reason neither one of them are wanting to come one. I actually dried and applied dielectric grease to all the connectors last week and this is the first time they have gone out since then, so who knows.

The only other thing that happend (a few times) was the occasional 1/2sec engine cut-out while crusing. I have read the info about the MAF repair on here, and it almost sounds like that is the problem.
