Re: too much engine oil for about0.8litre

Put car on jackstands. Remove oil drainplug. Quickly replace. Check level. Problem solved.

You don't want to have too much oil. A little excess won't hurt anything, but the SVX is already an oil pig, needing 6.5L of oil, so now you're at 7.3 or so, which is a hell of a lot. When you overfill the oil too far, it will get to the point that the crank is splashing in it as it turns, which will foam it, reducing effectiveness (air pockets all over the place).

If you don't want to get under the car you can just poke the dipstick in and out, wiping it off between pokings until you have removed the 0.8 liters.

Note, this procedure may take a little while longer. 7 or 8 years longer.

i thought svx use 6 litre as in manual?my level shown just half an inch over the full dot, right on the broken dot, last dot on the side on the dipstick,,,,below it has two middle dots, one is low,one is full, right,so mine is half inch above full,,,,my mechanic use two 4 litre oil,one used up,the second left about 1.2litre,so 6.8litre used,,,,if as u said svx needs 6.5,,so just over by 0.3litre,should not be a problem????and i run 500km now,it seems fine...

Re: too much engine oil for about0.8litre

That's not too bad then, I've usually put about 6.5L in during oil changes, depending how long I let it drain for.
