When I brought gads (5 speed with 3.90 final ratio) car home from TN to VA I was consistantly pulling 27-29 mpg all highway. I did hit 30.5 mpg one tank mostly highway following the speed limit. everything is newer (stage 1v5/o2sensors/plugs/pcv) and clean intake system/throttle body.

Good o2 sensors are super important.

kill hangovers!

Re: What do you guys get for MPG?

With 2 new o2 sensors and my misfire fixed, I'm getting around 18-19mpg. This is mostly city driving however. Kinda crap but what can you do...

Re: What do you guys get for MPG?

Mine varies quite a bit with type and speed of driving but I usually get around 29 with all freeway going 80 and around 23 city/highway. I actually get the best milelage right at 80 with flat roads. This is with premium gas. not bad for a very well used svx.

Re: What do you guys get for MPG?

30 highway over the 1300 mile drive to/from Reading IX, and 30 again on the 1000 mile trip to school. City is absolute balls though, my drives here are only about 15 minutes max, so the car is barely warmed up by the time I shut it down again.

Re: What do you guys get for MPG?

Mine still han't changed.

Peak: 35mpg (imp)
7+ year average: 24.5mpg (imp) and improving
Recently got 33mpg on a road trip which included some slow driving as well.

On another (stock) SVX driven from Toronto to Winnipeg I got the same milege. Drove from Thunder Bay to the opposite side of Winnipeg (745kms) on one tank of gas. Low fuel light came on at 720kms.

Re: What do you guys get for MPG?

I am getting 19-20 MPG. I have new O2 sensors, a year old center cat, ECUtune 1v5, 3.90 WRX 5 speed, stebro cat back, MSD, and Accel air filter.

I drive mostly highway.

Any ideas what I should check to improve my millage?

Make sure you have no trouble codes in computer. Try thoroughly cleaning your throttle bodys and blades. If you have access to a BG intake system cleaner that would be helpful. Use it to clean injectors and the entire intake system. make sure you dont have any vacuum leaks. Use high octane fuel. clean PCV system. EGR functioning properly? Air filter? fuel filter? what spark plugs are you running? after all is said and done, reset your computer as it will need to relearn all your spiffy newness.

on a side note: "meh" is not a real word.

I got 17mpg on my last tank (9.01.08), all inner city short range, high rev driving. First tank with my 5mt installed so I was gunning it and noob shifting at 2500. Now I shift at around 1500-2000.
I believe my O2s are still original.
113k on the clock.

I expect to fill again at the end of this month. That's right. I only fill up once a month.

Being in the same boat of MPG (18-20) as AFBeefcake, the only thing I have left to change that I can think of is the fuel filter and PCV valve maybe? Also going to get a new gas cap as stated in another thread, lacking the pressure sound in any given condition. (I'm guessing lack of proper pressure could lead to loss of MPG).

NGK FTW!

Re: What do you guys get for MPG?

I've been driving mine a lot since I got it a couple weeks ago and on 2 separate fill ups doing mostly city driving(85%) I've been getting 22-23.5 mpg but I don't have a belt on my a/c cuz there was no condensor when I bought it and I'm waiting to get a newer compressor since I have a 92 that takes expensive as hell r-12.
also I've got new spark plugs that I haven't put in yet and I know the air filter is pretty dirty right now

Re: What do you guys get for MPG?

Don't know if the 10% or so methanol effects mpg here in wash st. but I have never seen more than 16-17 city, however at a steady 75 mph I have seen 27-28, I keep my machine lubed and tuned, tried cheap and expensive plugs, didn't seem to make any noticible difference, ambient temp. and elevation did seem to produce some varience tho. The colder the day the better the mpg, at least by my observance. My engine is at 160k, perhaps wear and tear also effects efficency.
