Wow! Am I converting this correctly, US$8.26/Gallon? Let's quit complaining.

I come up with with $7.87 per gallon, but when you get in those price ranges it doesn't make much difference.

I would not sell my SVX due to gas prices, however it is not easy to drive her around everyday when in College. Right now I'm paying roughly 3.90 per gallon for regular and 4.35 for premium -

I'm keeping it as long as I can. Even though they are amazing in the winter, I will be purchasing a winter beater for next years semester - not only to save gas but to keep the mileage low on my Pearlie.

If gas prices keep going up it will only mean the SVX becomes a weekend or occasional driver instead of a daily for me. But she shines so proudly in the sun! Have to take it to the beach this summer, damn now I'm sad, I'll have to snowboard or something to get my mind off the summer...

I drive my SVX on Mondays, my Expedition on Fridays, and my Legacy wagon every other day. I like to keep the mileage low on the SVX, and the gas for the Expedition keeps it as an occasional driver, it's not economical to drive daily. The wagon has minor pep, room for several, cargo space, and decent gas mileage, perfect daily driver.

right now blackie is my winter daily driver and with an 88 mile round trip commute, it's a little brutal on the wallet. if and when the sonata sells, i may be in the market for another fuel efficient summer daily driver. what i'd really like it to find new employment downtown and eventually move closer to work.

The way I see it, in my own personal opinion, gas prices wont quit going up unless we find our own oil or a better, more cost efficent mode of powering our vehicles. Making a 2-cylinder Eco-box that gets over 70 mpg has been done before and it failed. There no where near powerful enough or stylish enough to suit our needs as an american culture. Blame it on the pony cars or the rat rods of the past to make us Americans demand high hp, low mpg cars that could turn even a nuns head. I love my SVX but if I ever pay over $6.00 per gallon, I might consider buying a Metro. Considerations over, no Metro.

In direct answer to the posed question.....hell no.
My SVX gets better gas mileage than any other vehicle I have. I bought a pickup because I wanted to save on Penny's wear & tear, and I wanted the versatility of a 4-door. However, it cost me over $50 to fill my truck's tank on Monday (at 85 octane), so I parked it for the week and drove Penny to and from work. Even though I pay for more expensive gas in Penny, her mpg ratio makes it better.
Of course, the weather is getting better, so she doesn't have to be a garage queen anymore.

Side note: taking a trip this weekend.....get to play round robin with company vehicles, so free gas for our personal trip!

Yep, there or there abouts guys. It seems that the prices go up a little bit each week here, and we are near to government budget time too........

My local independent garage is asking £1.14 a litre for Diesel today..........

Happy motoring !!

Phil.
