I had contacted him before with no response myself but i can say that $160 per sleeve($960 full set) is a great price seeing the fact that they are already pre machined to fit the EG33 block(side lapped and piston pin holes bored)

I want to get these sleeves and install them here at my shop. I know I can do it personally for my block for, well, free

Here's a rough panoram of the main floor in my machine shop. I got the facilities.

I can't imagine that you'd ever need a different crank in this motor. With a 7 bearing 6, you'd REALLY have to be pushing hard to bust that sucker. Aren't these things heated treated, or something like that already anyways?

of course, but when you have your crank machined, it decreases the amount of heat treated material, thus making it more prone to destruction, Thats why I didn't mess with mine. Best bet is to buy a new one from Subaru, or get a good used one

You mean machining it just from fitting new bearings, or what-have-you? I can't imagine that would weaken it too terribly much?? Slap a good set of Clevites in there and call it a day!

That said... You sir are the expert here, and if anyone would know it would be you.

I looked at that video. Those sleaves are so thick, it looks like they are going to need to do more machining just to get the head coolant passages to match up. Glad someone is interested in working on our motors. It will be interesting to see how the sleaves perform without semi or fully closing the deck. Does anyone have any idea what application this is for? Drag? Track? Airplane?

In the video he says for an "offroad" application. I would guess probably some kind of dunebuggy.

When I was on the phone with John Edwards he told me that the sleeves were 10mm thick, and he bored them to 4" rather than our 3.815".
He only strokes the factory forged crankshaft 1mm.

I am by no means an expert. But I do understand the physics of it and why the top engine builders usually refuse to machine rod journals for high HP motors unless they are fully heat treated again, which by the end of the day is not worth it dollar for dollar

I do understand that as well. I know a few engine builders that tell me the same thing. Good enough!
