negative drag coefficient??? Does that mean the car moves under no power?? Also, just to settle the score

USDM AWD- 3.545
USDM FWD- 3.700
JDM AWD- 3.700
I am not sure I ever heard of a non USDM front wheel drive model

His rev-counter is reading about 5250. I used an online calculator and plugged in the values of 0.694 (4th gear ratio), 3.70 (final drive ratio) and 225/50-16 (tyre size). It worked out at 151 mph (242km/h).

He needs 5800rpm to get 167mph.

I wish we had autobahns in Britain.

Let Phil (B3lha) do the calculations for the various final drive ratios with a given tire size and rpm and I think you will see that the USDM AWD would be faster in ungoverned mode. The others would be faster light to light, but not top end.

Your right, Lee

A standard US 3.545 car will be doing 163mph at 5250 rpm. For comparison a 4.11 car will be doing 141mph and a 4.44 will be doing 130mph.

However, this is based on the supposition that you can actually get to 5250 rpm in 4th gear. On the 3.545 US car you may not be able to. In fact, it might also top out at 151mph except the rev counter will be reading 4850.

Is there really a speed limiter on the 94+ USDM SVXes? I can see the limiter in my JDM roms, but I can't see one in the 94 USDM rom that Mike (UPnorth362) sent me.

I'd love to...

get some more information on this. I'm looking at preparing an SVX for Open Road Racing, and would like to know what my '92 SVX AWD can handle.

Does anyone know if this has a limiter, if so, how do I re-program OUT the limiter, and what would I have to do in order to (keep it N/A) make 160+ possible?

I'm open to ideas and suggestions...and before you flame away for the speeding, please check out the website. This is done under the sanction and the supervision of the Nevada Highway Patrol on a closed course.

A 6spd swap may be your best bet for durability. I'm not sure if the gearing would still allow a 160+ top speed though.
With our cars EASILY capable of 140+ even with high mileage motors, I'd think 160 would be attaniable with mild cams, and ECU Tune chips. Add in the ToMyx intake & I think 160 on stock gearing is very doable. I can't promise a stock 4EAT trans will stand up to racing though.
At those speeds I'd DEFINATELY want at least a 4pt cage & 5pt harnesses. You never know what Mr. Murphy will throw your way, & at 160+ it comes up FAST.
I've seen the Silver State Classic on TV & always thought I'd love doing that myself.

Its a good thing that I still have another 2000 rpm left on tap!

Yeah, theoretically.

3.545 SVXi are only faster on top end if they can put more power down.

That looks like a blast..... I dunno if a SVX can handle that in regards to too much air getting underneath the car. The front end of the SVX is pretty high off the ground.

Nothing a decent set of coilovers can't fix. Beyond that a plastic airdam would keep air from under the car.
Hey get some pics of youe SVX at 160 with the stock wing, we'd love to see if it's just for show or not

With my headers I really cant drive the car lowered much at all in the front. Also, 160 is not something to be joked with I hit 143 in my first SVX and that was freaking fast. I would want a roll cage, 4 pt harness, coilovers, better tires before I tried a run at 160... I do not know what my 6mt has for a top speed assuming a top rpm of 7000.

My fastest ever was 125 in a tunnel. It handled well, but I think any faster and I would be shaking like a tree.

120-130 is one thing, but I'd want some proven areodynamic modifications, and some additional safety equipment before trying anything faster
