My 450f/350r setup works fine and I drive it around town. I don't daily drive it but its not overly harsh at all... Very happy with them.

Although the first 2 or 3 days I was quite nauseous before the struts settled

...
Tim,

How is the handling balance at the limit of grip? Is the tendency to oversteer or understeer under throttle?

To be honest with you I never pushed it too close to the limit being that its cold now... However I would say based on my experiences so far that engaging more throttle will push me through the turn more confidently than if i let off.

Mychailo, you have to understand the auto is going to perform very differently than the 6mt. I am sure you know that though. The auto may understeer if you push past the limit but with the 6mt she lays flat and takes the turns with excellent balance. Not to mention I have been learning where my limits are and to push the envelope but trying not to break it The heavy spring rates are suited for the car. My older, softer springs were a good match as well but the heavier rates seem to perform much better as I develop my skills over time

Mychailo, I'm looking for a complete set for my 92, this looks like a real good option. I'm in Toronto and I drive my car daily. I would like to get a set made up for me and shipped to Toronto, I will ship my old one's back once these are installed or do you need mine before you can put together a set for me? I have no problem paying up front and leaving a deposit on the cores. If this is doable please let me know.

How can I tell what my spring rates are as I forgot.
Fronts say: Eibach 167759, GC180.64.75
Rears say: Eibach 165332, GC230.54.55
Do these numbers say anything about the spring rates?
thanks
p.s. I think they must be soft springs as I am running the Koni's at full stiff.

Tony: The rear mounts shown should be tough enough for offroad duty. I haven't researched a replacement for the front because they have been good enough for road duty, but I would think that one of the Gruppe-N mounts with a hard rubber bushing could be adapted. They'd be louder than stock, but shouldn't be horribly noisey like a pillow-ball setup.

AF: You never got the parts or your money back from Porter?

Mychailo,

Sorry, but I didn't see this response until now. Well the WRX is sold and it remained 'stock' over the 2 years that I owned it. Only mods installed were a big FSB, tokico HP blue front struts (when my stockers blew out), Prodrive axleback and a high flow panel filter (in addition to an extra set of lightweight wheels and r-comps). It was pretty easy to return it to stock.

I'm lovin' the RX-8. It makes a great daily driver and is an excellent autocrosser. First car I've owned with a true multi-link suspension front & rear.

She's being fully prepped for B-stock and I'm lookking forward to the next couple of autocross seasons.

Chike

75 kg/mm ~ 420 lbs/in
55 kg/mm ~ 310 lbs/in

This is the standard spring combo that GC sells now for the SVX. BTW, the rear should say "GC230.64.55".

I charge a 20% non-refundable downpayment to get started and then request final payment before shipping. If that works for you, send me an email, and we can get started.
