Wow, just wow. I have the same exact code, and symptoms. I replaced the 02 sensors and nothing's changed. Fuel economy is crap, car is sluggish, engine is leaking oil from some hidden spot. Let me know what you find.

btw does your car hesitate at all? Mine does sometimes.

Wow, that is so weird....hmm, i'll ask my grandpa, he's been a Subi tech for 20 odd years so maybe he'll know

wow.....

mine only stutters on a very rare occosian...

Here is what the book says about code 56

CODE 56, EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) SYSTEM
Check for mechanical problem w/EGR valve, EGR vacuum
controller and/or EGR line. EGR may be stuck in open or closed
position.

Symptom includes the following.
* Poor driveability at low speed.

can u tell me where hte EGR vacum conrtoller is and the EGR line? and also i do i check if the valve is stuck/open? i knew what the code has been for a long time but idk where any it lol
