A few problems I am running into are:

-I don't have a way to tow the car anywhere.
-I don't have a lot of money to spend to have someone else work on it (especially after the Holiday season)
-The car is not in Frederick MD, it's about 30 minutes east of Frederick at my grandmothers farm.

So...yeah that kinda leaves me in a jam.

Hmm.. holiday season ... I dont know the cost of towin over there and also the distance. I can say for the swap, it would cost around $1200 if i remember correctly. But when ever you have sufficient money, you can give a call to svxfiles or Jason (it may cost more for towin to his place) and have the car back on road.

But if u (r any of ur friend's) have AAA you can use it to tow the car first 15miles for free and then they will charge you (I think not much).

Sounds like a steal.. The konis are worth it alone... It probobly has the koni struts and no G/C springs. It would cost around $1500 after buying the konis and new springs to get that suspension. It is probobly low in the rear because of flatened rear strut mounts...SVXRide might wanna check this one out

If the front diff is not totally given up, you may have a chance to drive to Tom's place - not too far from you. Tom might be able to come to tow your SVX if you're paying for the mileage, just like he came here to tow my friend's SVX back to cumberland. It's possible to do a 4.44 swap less than a thousand dollar, good luck.

The diff hasn't totally given up, but it would not make it to Tom's place. Especially over the mountain.

You would be surprised what the car will do with a dead front diff. I think it would make it if you kept your ears open to be sure you were not straining it too much

No guarantee but I think it's possible to make it if your front diff is not real bad. If you drive smooth and don't put too much stress on the front diff, smooth as accelerate slowly and easy and don't try to stop too often if possible, don't put too much stress as don't give hard throttle acceleration, you have a higher chance there.

When my front diff was bad, I still put another 3000miles on it, I also drove on I-68 a few times with Mountains, when it got real bad(the last time) and I still made there to Cumberland. I could feel the clunking noise became louder and more rough, I "really" accelerated it so slow and when I got the speed up to 75-80mph on I-68, I "used" very light throttle - the front diff noise became much softer and less stress.

PS: If you want to try, check or add if you have enough front diff fluid.

I tried driving it a little the other day but it clunks like crazy. I do not trust the diff to make it..And I don't want to take the chance. For now the car sits until I can get a diff for it.
