parking lights wont turn off

Go figure.... I got a new problem with my problem child! my parking lights wont turn off...but the weird part is when you turn the lights off the dash lights go off but the paking lights dont and they dont turn off when I turn the key off either.....so I had to pull the fuse so the batt wont die... any ideas

Switch on top of the steering wheel. Turn it to the off position.

That is all.

ok im stupid. I let my girlfriend drive my car aned got it back with a dead battrie and with all the problems I have with this car (at least 1 new problem a week) I just figured it was a new problem. good, one issue off the list...butI still have to do a flexplate and a front diff (the guy who put the new trans in didnt put front diff fluid in it so on the way home it got the diff hot...so hot it melted the plastic gear for the speedo and I have some front diff wine. I guess you get what you pay for...$200 is costing me a hell of alot more! im guessing my flex plate is something from him to...Ill see once I pull the trans...good thing I have my old trans with a good front diff!

all should have them in two places....on the blinker column where you turn the switch for your normal lights, and then one on top of the steering column...its a on/off switch.

This is correct; there is no switch atop the steering column; not in a '92, anyway. And the stalk- mounted switch operates the parking (or in this case,"running") lights only when the engine is running, as with the headlights. The dash-mounted switch allows parking light usage without the ignition key.

Yeah, that's true.

My Legacy used to have the switch on top of the column. The main problem I had with it, it did not light up, or there was no way of knowing it was on as you left the car [the clocks would be dark]. So in theory, if you were not careful, or in a hurry, you could lock up and leave the car with the park lights on. All night. Or whatever.

A surefire recipe for a flat battery, and I never liked it.

The emergengy parking light is on top of th ecoulmn on all Subarus EXCEPT the SVX, where it is on the lower left side of the dash, by the Heated Mirrors button (if you have a LSL)

First rule with a SVX is: Never let anyone else drive your SVX.

Second rule is: If you are tempted to let someone else drive your SVX, see rule #1

The switch that was turned on allows you to have everything else turned off except the parking lights. That could come from a law in Japan.
