A bad O ring can cause leaking, and air leaking into the system. The first thing I would do is change the O ring and then if there are still problems, we can figure it out from there. Good luck.

There also a fuse in the fuse panel(by the driver's feet) that controls the power steering. I was piggy-backing my trans temp gauge into one of those fuses and shut down the P/S until I made a good connection.
Just another avenue to explore...

I strongly feel it was the pump, because I compared the steering with a pump installed and without it, with the pump on I have like 5 percent assist, without the pump installed it felt like the steering wouldnt move, thats how it felt a couple of days ago, but now it seems normal. I put a direct wire from the steering fuse the the steering computer. so i dont think its the system
