heater vent

when i turn my heater on it only will blow air on DEF and on the floor when i turn AUTO on. how do i get heat to come out of the front vents? I think that there might be something loose or broken. the A/C comes out of the front vents though, most of the time. can someone help me.

You can't get warm air from the top (except when it is 100 degrees out in the summer).

The engineers who designed the SVX, designed it only to deliver air to the floor when the heat is on. Their reasoning was that heat from the top vents, blowing hot air into the driver's and passenger's faces, tended to dry out their eyes. It was one of those "considerate" features, engineered into the car. It is not a changeable feature unless you know how to retool the mechanisms that deliver the air.

In fact, they engineered in an additional feature - when the sun is shining and providing heat through the windshield, the system will blow heated air at your feet and cool air through the dash vents so the air at the top of the car doesn't get overheated. (That's what that sensor on the drivers side of the dash upnear the window is for)
