Sizing-up an SVX from an ad

If the price ($2200) isn't enough of a giveaway, the description, "good bags runs and drives" should make the point: Probably not money well spent.

Same AutoTrader search turned-up a blue '96 LSi with <74,000 miles for $12,995. That might be the priceist I've seen.

The blue lsi you are talking about is at Earl Duff Subaru in Harriman Tn. Its a nice car but no 13k, its owned by the owner of the dealership so its probaly well maintained

I'm sure that car is "rebuilt title"

too far to go look at so I'm not bothering.

I think you're right on both counts. $2200 is probably way too much to pay for any car if the best they can say about it is "good bags runs and drives."

Bet that '96 would be one sweet car, being owned by a Suby dealer. Must be immaculate. Alas, $2200 is more suited to my budget...

The car is showroom perfect - the dealer/owner let me check it out when I was in the market for a car. It was his pristine example that got me to really fall for the car and convinced me to buy my SVX from someone in the SVX network.

As nice as it is, the asking price is too high considering the mileage. The price reflects how much he loves the car and he probably doesn't even really want to part with it.

called dealer on the 2200 dollar white.
told me it was a theft recovery, then corrected himself and said it was a repo.
says tranny hangs between 2nd and 3rd.
might be a good deal if you have a 5mt ready to go.
