Pearl Paint

I have a '1992 SVX with the Pearl Colored paint. I can't seem to get rid of a certain grim on the paint. My friend ran his finger down the siode of my car once when it was dirty and now you can see the out line and i can't seem to get rid of it. It gives in a certain yellow tint to it, that it never had before. AHHHH...looks like crap....HELP! Does anyone have/had the same problem. Should i have my car buffed or something.

paint care

Disclaimer: I don't have a pearl paint finish.

Bought a '92 a week ago and it did come with a fair amount of industrial fall-out on the paint. I would suggest you try a product by a company called Mothers. It's their Clay Bar. It literally feels like a bar made of clay (or play-do) and you use it with their detail spray to keep it moist as you lightly rub the surface. Wash it, Clay Bar it, then wax. Worked for me on a black mica finish.

If for some reason that product isn't available in your area, log onto Meguiars web site and it has a Q&A section to lead you to a better finish (of course they only recommend their product). You can even e-mail specifics and get a human response e-mail back in a couple of days.

I used this exact product on my car about a week ago... didnt really do anything, but i wax my car every time i wash it anyway... lol... so there wasnt much to fix. I do only wash it though, about once a month. If anything, it's a fun thing to do on a saturday afternoon... That is, if you like rubbing a bar of clay over your car on a saturday afternoon... man, i need some sleep.
