If you are in a state or province were emissions are not tested then you could get away with using 87 but it can dirty up your Cat's.
I have to go through emissions testing every two years. Even thou the price is hard to swollow I always claim one of the reasons I got 330,000k's out of my CRX was due to the 92 octane from day one. I put 94 octane on pay day

What were the EPA fuel mileage numbers for the SVX, 17/24?
In the past few weeks I've driven 1460.3 miles and loaded 61.04 gallons of fuel; mostly 93 octane with a splash of 87 or 89 here and there. That's 23.92 MPG. Not bad, especially considering the two+ hours I sat at idle in standstill/creeping Atlanta interstate traffic (road work and two nasty accidents). All with the climate control on auto, which means AC running 99% of the time. Haven't been able to top the 31+ I got on one highway run last week. I also kept up with what I spent but don't really want to know the total. dcb |

Not bad at all. I usually average just over 24 mpg. Pretty good for a 10 year old car with 165k on the clock. The Tribeca is rated at 18/23 Dave |
