You most certainly can: F-bodies are my passion I found alot of this info on www.89tta.com and there is plenty more info on there....

There weren't to many made: 1500ish. All of them are white w/ a tan interior (some cloth, some leather). They came in both hardtop and T-Top form.

Some of the things that made them special are:

3.8L Turbocharged and intercooled V6 from the Grand National but w/ more toys (cross drilled crankshaft, bigger intercooler (GNX), Fuel pressure boost, and prom recalibrations. It was rated at "250hp" but they have put down 300ish to the wheels...so little underrated they are. They are among the fastest cars in the 80's and faster than the corvette of that year.

They recieved the 1LE racing brake package, it came w/ 12 inch front rotors w/ alluninum twin piston calipers and 12inch rear rotors w/ corvette single piston calipers. All the pads/calipers are quick change meaning the pads can be changed very quickly (< 1 min) for racing applications.

They are coveted cars and can be made very fast very f'n cheap...just like a grand national but carry all the handling/braking attributes of the 1LE cars (.95g +)

Pic of a TTA

Speedometer and Tach (boost gauge in tach) Other 4 gauges would be off to the left.... (I can get a pic of your standard TA/Formula interior if you need...mine is gray...but it will give you an idea)

and extra f'n sweet 3.8L Turbo engine... (btw...grand nationals kick major ass too)

The 1989 TTA is unbelievable. It's hard to believe that you could get a car that fast that cheap at that time. No one realized it then either. I almost bought one before I got my WS6.

It runs the 1/4 mile in under 13 secs, with a 0-60 time ranging between 4.6-4.8secs. The TTA is still the fastest factory f-body ever built.

1547 Made to be exact

FYI Comedian Sam Kinison died in his TTA in a car accident

Give turbobuicks.com or turbobuick.com a look if your looking to buy one

The usually are close to $10,000 (I've seen)

Its also possible to clone one ... get a clean firebird and put one together
dont know how muich that would cost and of course it wouldnt be worth as much

you can also find GN's and other Turbo regals for sale on those sites

The GN is an amazing car ... it runs better when its cold out ... I would say easily 3.9 0-60 time and not many cars that can touch it on the street light to light only problem is you need a garage and a shotgun if you're going to park a GN on the street

I've spanked a few vettes in my GN without even trying (including a brand new one) bad thing is the GN's dont handle that well (the lowering springs did help my car though) and the top end is non existent but light to light and 0-60 or 0-100 its pretty much unbeatable

LOL... I wish I had one to sell I think about buying one frequently though... they are badass. A good shape GTO might be hard to find...but luckily we don't live in the rust belt either.

I demand you post a clip of the camaro running... I'd kill you for it just so you know.

just got back from the gas station, car runs surprising good for been
sitting so long. Going to put the carpet in this weekend and clean up rest
of the interior. Pull off the rear wheels and check the rear brakes etc and
get rid of the spider-webs under it. Tires are pretty dryrot. haha.

Too bad we're all so far apart or we could have a Camaro/Firebird meet.

Red face

I picked up the 240Z last night. Between it and the 280Z I should be able to make one car that I can race. What is it with Datsuns and the driverside floorboards any way? Did they just forget to put them in? I dont think I've ever seen a Z with it still in. Was it optional for all the pre-80's Z car?

I also spotted an '84 Grand National in cherry condition for sale in New Castle, DE. If your interested, you pay for it and I'll drive it down to ya. Shouldnt take more than 4 or 5 hours.

Sorry, this race is for Americans only

Seeing as I know nothing about this "Soarer", I can't really say. However, if you're pushing at 600hp or better, it would be a good race.
