How much would you pay for an in-car / onboard computer system

I was looking at the computer thread and I was wondering how much would people (if interested) would pay for onboard computer for your car.

People like clarion started with their joyride/auto pc. Intel and MS is also jumping on this field. Then I found this site and they are selling something interesting as well.

I just want to know how much would people pay for a cutting edge technology in the car. If I really want, I can hook up a professional install in cars for around 1000 (in reality) using new EZ-GO PC.

Just general ideas guys.

Thanks
Lwin

Significant Technical Input
Smile Call me old-fashioned but...

I kinda think a 'puter in a car is like taking a cell phone with me when I go fishing. I prefer to enjoy the task at hand without interruption. I guess if I actually found a reason to have a pc mounted in the car I would prefer the big screen of a laptop being held in the lap of a slim-goodie sitting next to me.

Being the "stick with stock" kinda guy I am, I would only settle for an in-dash system that was on a line with the prototype (voice activation, GPS Navigation, etc.). I'm not fond of "Dash Warts" and such.

I agree. I don't even like to keep my GPS in the SVX for too long.

I don't know about current models, but previous AutoPC variants I've sen were clunky and looked terribly annoying. I don't want to (nor do I feel it's safe to) add dozens of buttons to the car. If I'm going to have a PC in my car, it's going to be entirely voice-activated and be totally unobtrusive. I want to tell it what to do (call home, lock the doors, etc), but I don't want to see it at all.
