let me put it this way the tribeca is the only suv i will drive. subaru is just following suit with bmw and porsche. i like the inside and at the end of the day thats all i care about, soft seats that pamper my sensitive rear.

i just dont like the other car companies. they all look the same to me except fot the expensive ones. its bad enough i have to come home and see my dad's 300m pos old man car parked next to a beautiful 95 legacy (which is curently broke down on the side of 50 a mile west of the bay bridge). nuke all the other car makers and leave subaru, thats my dream land.

I still think the new impreza line is ugly. The WRX succeeded because it had price and speed to go along with it. I don't think the Tribeca has much going for it. Definitely not enough to overcome the styling.

Well, maybe it's just me then , but I think 02-03 imprezas look better than most 93-01 and all 04+

And I really like the tribeca. It has cool little features

I'd go with the 2004+ WRX's over the bug eye 2002-03's. The earlier ones were ok, I had a 96 Coupe. I just don't see this designer "face" translating well across the board.

Yesterday morning I was at the Suby dealership getting service for my '97 SVX. They had quite a few (6+) Tribecas. I did not like the outside styling. It seemed to be a pregnant Outback. The front grill is totally Alfa. I hate the headlight assemblies. They are the projector type and have that bug eye look like the original WRXes. The rear styling isn't too bad, but I think the tail lights should be slightly bigger. The best part is the interior. It is sumptuous. The leather is really, really nice, and it smells divine.
I think that Subaru is trying to move more into the mainstream.
This was just my opinion. Go take a look at one in person, yourself.

My Take On The Tribeca

I happened to see the Tribeca at the NY Auto Show in April. I really liked the look alot.... especially the interior. But I was wondering whether the Tribeca is going to require PREMIUM UNLEADED FUEL. Anyone know the answer to the fuel question. In these times of skyrocketing gas prices, a premium only fuel vehicle is going to chase most people away. My '02 Denali runs just fine on regular unleaded BTW.

I noticed that ALL SVX'ers say 1 of these 2 similar phrases:
1. "I need my SVX fix." (when they haven't driven it for awhile)
2. "I need my SVX fixed." (when it must go to the shop for repairs)

With a compression ratio of 10.7 / 1 it does require premium fuel. Your Denali may run fine on regular, but from what I've heard about Denali's you are probably averaging about 12MPG.
