Got a new backpack :D

New backpack

I went looking with a $300 budget 6 months ago, but found this was exactly what I wanted, so I decided to think about it, and I thought I'd wait untill I was closer to doing a hike, so I get a 20% off any one item cupon in the mail last month...close enough to my price for me

That's a nice pack that should last a long time. I have a 15 or so year old Gregory Day-and-a-Half pack that has been through epics you would not believe, and a Gregory internal frame (can't remember the model, but similar in size to the Denali) that has also served me well for many years. Keep a cover on it, even in nice weather. UV will do more damage to that fabric than wear and tear ever will.

Yeah Gregory's aren't bad but pricey for me. I prefer Lowe Alpine's, besides they fit my frame better. It might sound weird but you'd be smart to go to a local shop and get it fitted to ya. 99% of the world doesn't know how to adjust a pack for optimum use (including myself I found by doing the same thing at a tech day locally).

Definately get and use the cover. My 10 year old Lowe is starting to develop a mess upper pocket from sun damage.

I got it at REI and they showed me how to properly fit it, I was also able to try several packs on for fit with their weighted pillows in the packs, thanks for the info on covering it, I'll snag a cover before it goes into use, probably in a couple months when I get my head back on straight
