WHOOO finally

Finally got to ride my Stealth piece of crap.
Too bad an ATV was pushing as it couldn't provide it's own power.

Hooray for impounding fees as well.
And towing.
And new batteries.
And waiting.
And the 3 people that flipped me off in Wasilla.

One was mad at me pulling into an interesection making him slow down to the posted speed limit of 60.

One was mad a red Cavalier came from behind me and cut her off.

One was mad that I wanted to go around the huge dirt hauler instead of wait behind it while it signals to turn in a 2 lane road.

People in rural Alaska are freakin morons.

You're the one pushing your car around public roads with an ATV, instead of towing it properly, and you have the gall to call other people morons?

Let me clarify this for you.

It was impounded, and the guy I had to buy it back from uses an atv to push the cars around his secure lot.
Someone had to steer and I had the key.

Right now it sits in front of his building waiting to be put on a flatbed and parked in my driveway.

So yeah, I am calling other people stupid.

Define "towing it properly." You mean legally or rationally?

I couldn't care less about the legality if it mandates irrational conventions. Given the circumstances, I would say that using an ATV was towing it properly. Anyone who wants to pay a tow truck for a minor tow is a moron. There's nothing wrong with a length of rope tied between two bumpers.

AAA memberships aren't very expensive (about $150 a year or so?) and pay for themselves very easily. When my car wouldn't stay in gear a couple years ago I had it towed to a dealership 75 miles away for free.

I'm more confused than after your first message. In that one you describe intersections and 'two lane roads.' Now you say you only had it pushed around a private lot.

Getting the truth out of your posts is always tiring, man.

A lot lot less. More like 55 bucks. I have one and I've used it quite a few times.

I know.

Here is the breakdown.

I bought this Stealth.
It has ECU and coil problems.
Last year I was unable to drive it home, over 60 miles away from Big Lake Alaska to Anchorage Alaska.

So, recently, a friend of mine pretty much conived me into taking him out there to get it, with the promise of cheap towing from his friend if necessary.
So I drive out there in the SVX, and get there about 40 minutes later around 9:30am after being flipped off by various village idiots who think they own the road.

Apparently it has not been in storage like I was told, but someone stole my battery and pushed it into this guys property.
Luckily I know these people through Edgo, and they break me a deal so instead of paying the storage/impound fee of over $5000, I presented my title, key, and ECU, and got it back for $400, so as of yet it's only costed me $1k, which is fine.

This guy, uses a small four wheeler atv to push the cars around his yard with a tire bumper, because it's easy, and probably more fun than tow straps.

After a few hours of running around the boonies getting various things, it won't run without some hours of mechanical diag and repair, so this guy calls me his personal tow guy, and I agree to let him tow it 60 miles to my pad for $125, where it arrived at about 10am this morning, and now sits, waiting for my day off to make it run, possibly Monday.

There's a transmission shop in my town that routinely pushes cars around with an old Chrysler New Yorker. They usually don't slow down traffic. In fact, I think they're usually exceeding the speed limit. There's a dozen dealerships in the area, and I see 'em driving all over the place with this Chrysler POS pushing trade-ins with bad trannys up and down the block -- right past the police station to boot!

There's a performance shop, a motorcycle dealership, a stereo shop, and commercial fuel station all on one block. The police fill up their tanks while guys riding wheelies go whizzing by. They rarely intercede with any of the various ordinance violations as it hurts business and fewer problems arise as a result of turning a blind eye than from making a stink. It's a nice arrangement.

Bumpers are free, and don't require yearly renewal. ...and more to the point; I'm a cheap bastard, lest ye forget.
