Trouble is, all the old hippies are in suits these days. Sold out to the establishment. First time I saw Abbie Hoffman in a suit, I knew it was all over. He was over thirty and I couldn't trust him any more -- and so was I, so, I couldn't even trust myself.

Ten bucks!!

That's a lot of bucks in an hour.
Hope they were still bucks when heading home.

Bucks and Dough

It is (BLAM) hunting season (KaPOW) here in the mountains and (BOOM) everyone wants a buck...(Zwing)... BIG BUCKS...(KerBOOM)...of course everyone once and awhile someone makes a mistake and (POW) ends up with a little doe...which is aFINE from the game warden's perspective.

Down in Virginia last week, a guy shot an elk that had wandered in from Kentucky. He said he thought it was a whitetail deer.

His wallet is considerably lighter now, and he has had his eyes examined. Perhaps he should not be carrying a firearm... Don

Day-glo blues

The game wardens oughta put big orange X's on the ones it is allowed to shoot. That way, everything would be clear, as long as the hunters themselves eschewed orange camouflage.

How in the Hell can you mistake an elk for a whitetail deer? That moron should never be allowed to hunt again and should have his license taken from him. People like that just give the anti-hunting and gun folks more fuel for their fire. MORON!!!!!It specifically states in the hunters handbook(the one you get when you take your test to get your license) to make sure you know what you are hunting and what you are shooting at. Apparently nobody reads that piece of literature anymore. I'm sorry for going off like this, but that crap just burns me up.

On a lighter note, it was legal to shoot a buck or a doe during deer season this year in PA. We got alot of the WHITETAILED deer running arround up here.

Sometimes people "know" what they're shooting, they just don't expect to get caught. I think the dude just saw his chance for a "trophy" that was out of the ordinary and took it. But, once caught, feigned ignorance. At least, that's what I would do.

Meanwhile, I'll try to keep our elk over on our side of the border, lest our West Virginny brothers make them extinct . . . again.

Speaking of elk being extinct, we are starting to get elk in Elk county up here again. I think last year was the first time in 30 or 40 years that licenses have been issued for them, so there must be enough of them to start being a problem. BTW, have you ever seen a BEEFALO?
