Decision made.
Well, I was going to take the Stealth and fix it to run in the SCCA. However, I've always like the Crysler Conquest/Mitsu Starion. For those not familar with it, it is consider the prediseser to all DSMs. It has a turbo charged 4-cylinder and a 5-speed. It's a RWD. I want a '89 with the sport handling package. In '89 they added an intercooler ind increased HP (I beleave it was to 180HP). The SHP added 9in wide front rims and 10in wide rears with 50's and 45's, plus it added a 4 way adjustable suspension system.
Monday while headed home from DE. I stopped by a shop where I always see a couple sitting. I thought it was a repair shop. Turns out the guy is a collector. He has 39 cars and most are forsale. They range in price from $1500 to $3000. The one I was most interested in had a good body, with high milage. He said it was $1500 and the only thing it needed to drive was a new clutch. So as soon as the Stealth is ready it's going up forsale. |

I've always liked those cars...turbo...5spd....rwd.... sounds great! The only thing that kept me away was finding one that DOESN'T have turbo problems and the 80s knight rider interior.
I hear they're pretty sweet for drifting too, if that's your thing. |

Ya I'm not to crazy about the interior either. But then again thats just extra weight anyway. Who knows. If I have to much trouble finding parts I may even swop in a 4G engine out of an Eclipes and then take it drifting.
(I doupt that. I'm not much for the drifting craze) |
