Make sure you take into account the Model year (N - Model Year [N=1992, P=1993, R=1994, S=1995, T-1996]) This should help a little.

So, Scott does that mean that my 96 (JF1CX8653TH100339) was the 339th produced for the 96 model year?

On the 1993 Anniversary Edition, I have heard that the number comes after the 101 in the VIN number. Mine for example is PH101167 so mine would be # 167 out of the 301 produced.
Eclique - yours is PH101060 or # 060.

(waiting for the stuff to hit the fan on this one)

Great stuff, Ryan. Thanks a lot. I can read the images very clearly . . . but I don't understand them.

First, you will need to take the first part of your VIN and find the model info. Then you take the last six to find the month your SVX was produced. The number in the top colum is the last model made for that month. So here is how it works:

1. Body Number: Find the body number in the chart. It is the 2nd colum. "JF1CX353*PH" (first 11) lets us know that its a 1993 LS-L.
2. Seraial Number: "101060" (last 6) lets us know that it was produced in March of 1993. Also, we know that it was the 5th SVX produced in March.

The problem with this VIN is that it is that we do not have the .pdf for you, yet.

Thanks,

Okay, I'm "closing in on it." However, I know my car was produced in 10/91 by virtue of the door plaque. How did you arrive at the fact that this particular vehicle was #5 in the month of March. I think I'm having a "blonde day." Sorry Scott, it's me, not you. You're still aces in my book!

The VIN that was used for the example came from eclique' SVX, not yours. Knowing the last serial number to be made from the previous month, you can determine the first one to be produced the following month. The last serial for February was "100055" and the serial from eclique's SVX is "101060".

Thanks,

This is a good one. From the Serial number, your SVX was the 2526 made in 1994 for the "L" Grade SVX. The production date should be 5/94. The funny thing is that the last SVX to be made for the '94 model year was "103517" and your Serial number if after this. There is no logical solution for this and the info we have is for reference only.

Hope this helps,

aredubjay, your being too hard on your self. Subaru is not exactly known for making a lick of sense in anything they do, as a matter of fact neither is any other car line out there....

Thank you, Scott. I mean, you were getting my business anyway, but you've just cinched it.

1992 w/ serial # 100052

This listing ended yesterday on eBay (the reserve was not met, it may be relisted at a later date). Here's a pic of the plate with the VIN#

It's the earliest build I've ever seen!

Don't forget it's a 94. You won't find a 92 with the same last 6 digits.

I beg your pardon, but I believe the "N" in the 10th place makes it a '92. Right?
