There are many options you can go other than OEM. Just go to any decent exhaust shop and they should be able to help you out. You could get an aftermarket cat for ~200 and have them put in a prefabbed y pipe. What else is wrong with the exhaust? It should not cost $1500.

Geeze,

You could have a shop do a custom dual set up for less then that.

I would shop around, that price sounds too high to me. Good luck.

would dual exhaust give you more power than single exhaust?

Thumbs up

A well designed dual set-up would give as much power as the well designed single set-up in my view.

If your SVX is relatively stock (with just bolt-on mods like an intake, chip and exhaust) a 2.5" single system would be the ideal size to use. For a dual system somewhere around 2-2.25" would be ideal.

ok this is what i have 3 catalitic converters need to be replaced and i'm told thats 1500 bucks should is there anywhere i could get that cheeper like monroe muffler because thats the only exhaust shop near me that can do work on this car and i don't want to be in the hole cause subaru i had 2 rotors done for 160 and monroe could have done it for 27.50 a peice. so you get my point with subaru.

catless option

If your emissions laws allow I have a pair of custom downpipes w/o pre-cats and a high flow main cat for sale in the near future, Our emissions laws changed here in PA so I have to take them off. Check my locker for pics.
