And then I jumped in feet first to help Larry organize the 10th meet... boy was I in for a wake-up call!!! Parting out my 2nd was nothing to the emails, etc... I had to field for the 10th!!!

Randy, et al,

Since we are reminiscing about old times...do you remember:
...Driving to Vermont with the FWD fuse in.
...40 miles of bad road on the way to Vermont.
... Everyone pushing the button on their keyfob to unlock their car door after the Vermont Meet dinner and unlocking/locking
everyone else's doors.
... Some idiot (me), directing the cars around for the group picture at Reading I; so that no two same color SVXes would be side by side.
.... One long line of SVXes approaching another long line of SVXes traveling in the opposite direction while they were all looking for the same covered bridge at Reading III.

As Bob Hope used to sing; "Thanks for the Memories."

how about...

watching a matress come flying out of the back of a truck and being run over by a Tuarus (I think it was a Taurus) right in the middle of an SVX convoy in VT? That was close.

Or, how about all the smoking SVXs atop of Mt. Philo?

ah, memories

I can remember my excitement when I found the Yahoo site . I can also remember waiting a few days for a new post to arrive! Then one day I logged on after being on vacation and thinking "How an I ever going to catch up with all these posts." I think the total was up to 600.
I also remember my wife saying something along the lines of "You're doing what? You're in a chat room with some guy in Texas sending messages to each other about your car?"
I tried to become a member here when it first go set up, but for some reason(I use Netscape?) I just couldn't set up a profile. Didn't bother me much though 'cause I figured this was just a renegade bunch anyway. Then the ads came on Yahoo
Then the 10th Ann meet was announced with cross ref to the network

Seldom visit Yahoo any more.

I wonder what did happen to Frank. Maybe he's so busy washing & polishing his SVX that he can't get time to log on to his computer.

How could I EVER forget that!

They don't have "gravel" roads, they have "boulder" roads.

... Everyone pushing the button on their keyfob to unlock their car door after the Vermont Meet dinner and unlocking/locking

What a blast.

... Some idiot (me), directing the cars around for the group picture at Reading I; so that no two same color SVXes would be side by side.

It was the first time we met (Aye, Aye, Aye). For a moment, the way you were arranging the cars, I thought you were an interior decorator. Then, I learned you were an engineer (Toot Toot!)

.... One long line of SVXes approaching another long line of SVXes traveling in the opposite direction while they were all looking for the same covered bridge at Reading III.

None of us knew if we were coming or going.

As Bob Hope used to sing; "Thanks for the Memories."

AMEN!

CLASSIC! Blondeman, playing dodgeball with the mattress while driving "he!! bent for leather" past the entire convoy.

Or, how about all the smoking SVXs atop of Mt. Philo?

Yes, one of them was my newly re-built, over-filled, driven straight from the shop, to Vermont, LEGACY tranny.

ah, memories

Ah, yes.

Maria is still living in PA and still owns "Snoopy" though she doesn't drive her much.

Blondeman, last I heard, had returned to his "roots" in Estonia. After the fall of communism in that area, his family's farm (which had been taken away during the revolution) was returned to them. They were buying tractors and other farming equipment and allowing the farmers who were settled there to stay on the farm and supplying them with equipment to work it. Of course, the "rumor" is, he drives a bus for the EMTS (Estonia Mass Transit System ).

The Russian revolution was an awfully long time ago. I wonder what happened to land for which families could not be found.
