in college my roomate had a 31 hupmobile with something like 5 forward "gears", a first and two seconds and thirds. the second of the last two were a "freewheeling" second and third. you'de be in neutral. of course, to accelerate you had to engage the clutch and move the stick out of the freewheeling gear and back to secord or third. this gas saving feature was obviously made illegal at some point.

Ok, this is getting ridiculous, $2.39 per gallon? The cheapest i can get now. Goes as high as $2.45 in Milpitas, and $2.55 In Fremont. So what is the record price? Anyone broke $3 yet?

Anywhere between $1.81 to $1.94 here in central VA. Thing that sucks is that my Lighhtning gets 13 mpg city and 17 highway!!!

most stations in denver are breaking their conventional pricing rules to keep premium prices under $2.00 ($1.999). most recently, i paid $1.869.

idaho just hit 2.098 a gallon about five minutes ago on apr. 7th at 12:00 AM. i heard that by the end of June, prices nationwide will be at or near 3.00 a gallonin all states. Hope OPEC drops national reserve and gas will fall to around 1.25.

I asked Mike that last night... He said that prices where he is are about $1.89 at the moment... That isn't too bad of a change from what I'm paying down here... But if it crosses into the $2.00 range, then that will seriously limit my driving...
