Subi whine

On the whine from the Subi. I've noticed, in response to one of the Subi fans, that the whine occurs when in gear - any gear. Not loud, just annoying. When the car is put in nuetral while deccelerating, it's quiet. Any further advice on what may be causing this? If a wheel bearing, wouldn't it make the same noise regardless of in or out of gear? Same with rear end? Or, maybe this is normal for the car and went unnoticed before. Thanks.

It's probably something internally wrong with the transmission. Perhaps have the dealer diagnose it? It's difficult to diagnose a noise problem over the internet without hearing the actual noise.
