Legacy & XT #'s

So how does the new XT Forester crank out a 0-60 in 5.3 and the new Legisee turbo do it only 5.6-5.8? Dubious #'s...

Could be partly due to the final drive differences. The Forester XT has a 4.44, while the Legacy has a 4.11.

Also, it's been fairly well established that the horsepower ratings for the XT are under rated from the factory. It's rated at 210, but owners that have dynoed them have seen 230hp at the wheels.

Actually, Subaru's advertised 0-60 time for the Forester XT is, I believe, 6.1 seconds. Magazine testers have been able to get 5.3s out of it, however. The advertised 0-60 time for the new Legacy GT is 5.5 seconds. Subaru's numbers are usually fairly conservative, so it's likely that we may be seeing test times significantly quicker than that once the magazines get a hold of the car.

Take it to Subaru of Gwinnett and talk to Jason Porter... He'll put ya on the dyno and run the Crap outta your cal and then tell ya what kinda numbers it's putting down... I was there one day when they dynoed 3 EVO's They were all pretty much stock but WOW, they have awesome power compared to our SVX's!!! I was thinking of getting mine Dynoed this weekend at Mooresville, NC... NASIOC is having a meet there and everyone is getting thier cars Dynoed... $50 for 3 pulls... Debating on weather or not I should go...

I can personally assure ya that the Forester XT's 0-60 time is far closer to 5 seconds then 6... Take this example... I was at Subaru of Gwinnett (My second home) about 4 months ago... A guy and his wife and thier friend came in and wanted to take one out on a test "ride"... I jumped in the back seat with the guys wife and friend. Jason Porter was driving and the other guy was sitting in the front... I wasn't expecting much... I figured "hey, it's a 2.5 turbo 4 cylinder.... Probably not much better than a WRX...." Boy was I wrong!!! Jason nails it exiting outta SOG, chirping the front tires ALL THE WAY THROUGH FIRST!!! Then Barking on the 1-2 shift!!! And this is with 5 people in the car!!!! Absolutly insane!!! The thing just had loads of torque, and nearly no lag what so ever!!! Well I went back there a few months after that and took a ride in thier Autocross beast of a Forester XT (this thing's been worked over by all sorts of performance companies)... Good god!!! Ever wondered what it feels like to have to strain to get outta your seat after a ride in a fast car?!?!?!!! Porter and I had this thing sideways through an intersection (to the point that he had to counter steer!!)... This is on Bridgestone Potenza S03 Summer tires on New pavement!!! The Forrester XT is nothing to mess with at a stoplight... Just a little bit of tuning and you'll have a n awesome little sleeper that will blow away the fastest of cars out there today!!!!

That picture is too sweet. I'll have to go show that to the guard here that drives a G35, he'll be pissed.

i'm sure i would, but that'd mean my partner would have to drive the jeep every day. i don't think that'd go over very well.
