Angry Major Damage - $$$ - need some form of justice

About 2am this morning i heard a crash while playing some video games at a friends house. I looked out the window. Pure black night.
Damn me to hell for not running outside like my instincts were telling me.
I awoke to someone saying "Uh oh, Nick isn't gonna be happy..."
It was at this point I knew what that crash was. Even though my alarm didn't go off.
Somebody had thrown what looks to be a stone weighing 20 lbs. through my rear windsheild. (Stacey I feel your pain now)
The entire thing is about to cave in.
I called the police, filed a report. Woopee, now it's on record.
Called my insurance, Geico, and its covered. I just pay $100. Or so they say. As I recall these windows go for about $1200, correct?
So don't feel too bad for me.

Ill have pics available in a few hours.

Lessons learned: Insurance = good, lights = good, trust your SVX instincts. You rarely get the chance to beat someones ass for doing something stupid and being justified for it. I'm only mad i missed my chance.

The other thing is I might move into this neighborhood for a month or so. Of all the.... >_<'... I'll be in transition soon. *puts gloves on*
Come get me you punks.

Unhappy

Also due to the irresponsibility of a few people (including myself) I will no longer have an XT6. It's a sad day for 6cyl Subarus indeed.
My mom absolutey hates the vehicle so she is having it towed from the garage and wrecked, even though I own it and it's in my name. Fine. Edgo is going to try to get another one, in better condition, from someone he knows.

Huck if you're there, can you tell me where the new XT6 group is located? I'm not quite up to speed. It moved right? I stopped recieveing posts. Might just be my account.

Oh yeah. If I'm there when she tries it, I'll get pics of my mom dragging the two wheeled beast from the garage. Good times. Not.

I watched the third Ninja Turtles movie last night. Now thats good times. That jungle song is stuck in my head.............

I to proposed this question before...Does the factory alarm go off ONLY when the doors or trunk get opened?? Apparently not, if you had a rock thrown through your window. Sorry to hear that!

Not too sure what the whole purpose of the OEM alarm if it only goes off when doors get opened.??

I actually have an aftermarket autostarter of unknown origins. I suspect it uses the same wiring sensors and logic. Something weird it does: if I lock the door, then unlock and open it, the lights will start "clicking" a few seconds later. Then a few seconds after that the alarm goes off. Only turning the ignition to 'ON' cuts the alarm. Curious...

re: alarm

i think it makes sense that the alarm goes off when you open the door or trunk. kinda hard to climb in through the windows. there are aftermarket alarms that installs sensors that trigger from vibrations to the car. i think viper does that, i had one but the damn thing went off everytime it was thundering hard or when i kicked the tires. annoying at night when you are sleeping.

Viper is supposed to have variable shock recognition, or sensitivity settings. Perhaps they were set too high?

i put in a Bulldog Security 'talking' alarm to assist the factory alarm. has an adjustable shock sensor and current sensor, and it talks, so it gets some attention when it goes off. cheap, too, at around $40-50, and its an easy 1-wire hookup.

Nik, that sucks really bad, i am sorry to hear

i dont' know about you, but everytime i am somewhere, usually at a friend's house...and i hear a crash, i automatically think..>MY CAR.......... that is probably because every single car i have owned...all 4 of them, has had someone back up into it, in their driveway and...the svx...the ex, backed it into a tree just the other day, i was at a friend's house, and his dad backed up his toyota pickup into my new truck

find that someone who would want to do harm to you and steal his wipers and jam them up his rear member!

I am a pessimistic optimistic. I think the worst is going to happen, that way when it does, i don't feel as bad, but if the best happens, i am twice as happy.

You (people) should move near my place. No such thing happens near my place and I'll get to see you (all) more.

i live in a really nice area at the moment, but my friend doesnt. sux.

heres the low down:
the window will be just under $500 special order from the dealer. should arrive in 7-10 working days from that point. when it arrives somebody will pick it up and install it whilst i recieve the refund minus a $100 deductible. in the meatime i really hope it doesnt rain.

weird stuff: there are shards of glass all over. even in the crevice of the front windsheild. must have been some impact. my mom came by and took pics.
im going to clean it up and go home whereupon i will post them and plot my revenge.... er.... plan what to do next.

my mom wants me to join the air force. i pledged long ago to never join the military, being of brat origin, but.....
i dunno.

Wow, that sucks man

My alarm (stock) goes off if someone hits my back windshield with their fist right in the middle near the bottom. Every time i go outside when they're around it's always going off. Doesnt help that the stock alarm is so wimpy .

On a side note...our Envoy got backed in to last night to the tune of $1300 in damage. Luckily we were at a party and everyone was outside, so the guy couldnt just drive away. He was only a kid, so he didnt get much verbal abuse, he was in tears before we even got over there.

I'm so pissed for you. But don't let it get you down too much, because what goes around does eventually come around. Whoever did it will eventually get theirs, whether you know about it or not.

backup into story (true, non svx)

True story...
So my friend, "Fly-T" buys this big 'ol farm Jeep. Complete with the pipe bumpers and dual cherry bombs with turn outs in front of the back tires....Classic rat-trap CJ-7...Name? "Black Beauty"

We're up on the balcony of this bar in Kansas just kickin it on a Friday evening and we hear the screeeeeeee of metal on metal. Then, the sound of burning rubber. Fly-T watches without expression as a couple of kids in a pickup truck get a little sideways backing out next to black beauty. The CJ kinda shrugs her shoulders while the pickup truck, which was impaled on the chain hooks welded on the ends of the pipe bumper manages to tear serious sheet metal in an effort to get away before the owner of such a fine example of "Redneck Jeep" manages to catch them in the act! Fly-T never got out of his chair as the paniced kids drove off.
About 15 minutes later they come back and shakily manage to find us up on the balcony. "Dude we're real sorry about hitting your Jeep. We'll pay for any damage we did. I just got scared and...." Getting scared is understandable. The people who drive rigs like Black Beauty are not usually the understanding (sane?) type!
Fly-T is cool with it. The CJ is the same as before. Nothing the rattle can of wal-mart's finest flat black paint couldn't fix. Fly-T slowly replies, "Boyz, I'm not gonna kick yer @sses cause when your daddy sees the entire side of his pickup can opened like that he's gonna beat you enough for both of us put together."

Side swipe story also non-SVX

When I was in High School with my BRAT, I had a big piece of channle iron welded about a foot out infront of it. One morning after pushing a freinds S-10 pu out of MY parking spot, I swung the front of the BRAT around and right into the side of another freinds mint 84 Turismo. It tore 2 hugh gashes down the front of the fender and into the bumper cover. His dad was kinda pissed and I was gona pay to fix it but later that weekend he was trying to keep up with me going down a dirt road to a party spot and put a hole in the oil pan and blew the motor, so I got out of paying for it.

Full of hate for ya, NikFu. Go get em killer.
