I have been very pleased with how my 245-40/17's worked on my 17x8 rims. No rubbing, reasonable wear pattern and great road holding. Also, the speedo is pretty accurate as teh diameter is almost the same as the stock 225-50/16's.
Dan,

They're 9 or 9.5" wide and of the correct bolt pattern. I haven't gotten around to mounting them on Racer X. Maybe this weekend. I'll take pics. I've got two other sets of 17" rims that will also work, so I think we'll be fine in the rim department

Nope, limited to about 3500-4k towing maximum so you better start dieting a bit. At least you'd arrive in style after spending 3/4 of the budget on fuel.

Bobby,

Got your message. I'll give you a call as soon as I've got a few more details worked out. Top of my list right now is locating some garage space in order to get the reX out of the great outdoors and up on jackstands.

Just to keep everyone up-to-date, I've started putting out feelers for storage space (i.e. concrete floor, good lighting, around 14'x14') that we'll be able to use as the "shop" for the SVreX II. Have to go this route because all of the garage space on my property is already over flowing with SVXi and other vehicles

This is awesome! Though I have already been asked to drive for a team, I'd almost rather turn them down and run with the SVX team... Either way, it'll be great to see youguys out there!
