Operation Remove and Replace Injectors
My goal is to repair and replace all six of the injectors on my car. I got the o-rings in the mail today (parts 16412E and 16412EA from courtesyparts.com ($25 total w/ shipping).
I tried to replace the front two injectors on the driver's side. I stripped out one of the screws on the front injector and realized that I couldn't get the drill in to the second or third ones. (I also stripped out a screw on the front passenger side injector too..the screw extractor isn't working too well here) Anyone have any hints for getting these injectors out? Someone in the other thread said that I'd need to buy an impact driver (which I'll order from Sears soon enough), but I don't know if it's going to fit back in there. Any solutions for that?

Re: Operation Remove and Replace Injectors
I actually fabricated a tool to remove them (I'll see if I can find a pic of it). You might want to consider removing the fuel rails to make the job easier.
-Bill Found them: the "legs" have pins that locate the puller in the threaded injector cap holes. The puller has pins that go into the top of the injector.

Re: Operation Remove and Replace Injectors
I actually bought these to remove the injectors:
Ohh, and I didn't notice that those little rails come off. I just have the whole big piece as a spare.

Re: Operation Remove and Replace Injectors
Which O-rings did you buy? They list the same 16412E as 3 different part numbers and 16412EA as 2 different numbers depending upon year and turbo/non turbo. I found a totally different set of O-rings when searching by the 240SX.

Re: Operation Remove and Replace Injectors
You already got your question answered, but i just want to stress the impact driver. It is the right tool for the job, and removing stripped screws is never fun. Worst case scenario drill the head of the fastener off. After removing what it secures in place you could most likely use vise grips to remove the threaded portion of the screw.

Re: Operation Remove and Replace Injectors
Well, I read that the SVX takes the 370cc injectors out of the 300ZX, so those are the o-rings I bought. Truthfully, I think the 16412E are the same as the 16412F that the 240SX takes. The injectors are the same design, just different flow. The ones that I got are the exact same size and shape as the stock svx injector o-rings.

Re: Operation Remove and Replace Injectors
Sounds like they will work then. I ended up with a different part number when searching that site using the 240 turbo.

Re: Operation Remove and Replace Injectors
Did mine today.
Only cracked 3 pintle caps. 2 just a part of the lip, but the third I actually cracked the cap housing. Those dang things are brittle. Luckily I had a spare injector to put in there. It's all done and she still runs. No signs of leaking. Those right angle screwdrivers that craftsman makes are great for this job. Especially needed on the driver side to get under the AC hard line.

Re: Operation Remove and Replace Injectors
I need to buy an impact driver before I attempt this any further. Also, I think I'm going to take the fuel rails off.

Re: Operation Remove and Replace Injectors
The impact driver won't help on most of the injectors unless you do pull the whole rail. There is just not enough room in there to get a slim screwdriver in, much less the driver. Unless you plan on pulling the AC....
A screwdriver set with multiple bits is a great help. Find the bit that fits perfectly and you'll have good luck with it.

Re: Operation Remove and Replace Injectors
Taking the fuel rails off is not very difficult. Better than stripping screws and waiting on shipping.
