Why it is useless, it comes on long after a tranny has moved on to the tranny garden. If I remember correctly the light comes on around 270 degrees. Tranny fluid starts cooking itself around 205-215.

Re: Transmission temp sensor

Yes, I know that, I have read many of the other posts discussing it's threshold. I am not concerned about its abilities.

Does anyone know where it is located? I am thinking valve body? Thanks!

Re: Transmission temp sensor

It seems to be pretty cryptic. The diagrams seem to show the valve body.

I was hoping it might be on the bell housing somewhere, etc, so I could fit an adapter and plug my new trans temp gauge in to that port.

I won't be tapping the pan for it for a while if that is the case and will probably have to splice it in right at the hot output.

It is bolted to the valve body half way between the round disc with the screw in it and the filter.
