Driver's Sleeve-Lock Regulator

So, the dealer won't sell me one without the motor. Anyone have a spare I can buy or know where I can purchase one? Or know how to fab one with not very many tools . . .

Re: Driver's Sleeve-Lock Regulator

A few other people have been told that by stupid dealers. Get the part number from the "How-To" write up and go to another dealer. Or call Liberty Subaru in NJ. 888-782-9493. They'll charge less than a local dealer and only charge actual shipping on a small plastic part so it should be cheap. Get a couple of other things that you've been meaning to get and it make it worth the wait.

On one of the regulators I pulled off of a car had the cable clamped to the the plate with a but/bolt and a few washers.

Yeah they are full of shizzle if they think you have to buy the whole thing. +1 for going in with the part # off the writeup, that is what I did when mine broke.

Re: Driver's Sleeve-Lock Regulator

NJ Subaru only has it as one unit. I did find it on Subaruparts.com for ~ $8 + $9 shipping, so I might go that route. I am also speaking with a member of the forums that might have one for me, waiting on a price for that.

Thanks for the information, guys!

Re: Driver's Sleeve-Lock Regulator

My dealer said the 92 didn't have that part when I needed one, that I needed the whole window assembly. I just gave him the part # and told him to order it in...cost about $9, took a week or so. He kept saying it wouldn't work when I picked it up as well...LOL
Just tell him to order the part (or 2). There is a thread on changing it with pics as well.
