Unhappy blinking powerlight

Hey!
Since yesterday night, my power light blinks 16 times whenever i start the engine. Can someone help me out here? Is it something I should worry about?

I look up on the codes and it is doing some weird blinking
it stays on for a second. then blinks really quickly and repeats that over and over again.

pls give me a good news like I need to do an oil change!

power light

The long code is for a value of 10, the shorts are a 1 count, add them up to get the trouble code. You just missed the posting by sjwel on the other site, with all the codes. It's also in the founders page over there. I am sure it is here too, just don't know where, you could do a search though.

The "Power" light indicates transmission codes. The following self diagnosis will show any fault
codes for the transmission.

To perform the self diag test for EXISTING problems
1) Warm up engine by driving at speeds greater than 12mph.
2) Stop vehicle and turn ignition switch OFF.
3) Turn ignition switch ON and make sure POWER indicator lamp comes on.
4) Turn ignition switch OFF.
5) Move selector lever to D and turn manual switch ON.
6) Turn ignition switch ON.
7) Move selector lever to "3" and turn manual switch OFF.
8) Move selector level to "2" and turn manual switch ON.
9) Move selector lever to "1" and turn manual switch OFF.
10) Partially depress accelerator pedal (to turn idle switch off).
11) Check code as displayed on POWER light. Blinking once every 1/4sec is normal.

To perform the self diag test for PREVIOUS problems

So that means I am getting 11. Which means: 11 Duty solenoid A

Is it bad?

Mebbe, mebbe not. It could possibly just be the resistor behind the battery has gone south, or, gotten some corrosion in it. Try cleaning the contacts on the resistor and plugging it back in (simple things first, y'know). If that doesn't work, you'll need to have the voltage tested to that resistor (anybody remember the values?). If the resistor turns out to be okay, then, you may have to have duty solenoid A replaced. But, let's hope that's not the case.

1) It could be wiring (very bad, hard to trace)
2) It could be the solenoid itself (very very bad)
3) It could be the resistor behind the battery, either disconnected or went south (breath easy, it won't cost your future first born).

The resistor can be replaced with a generic one (20W, 10Ohms) and solder it in, for a $2 fix and a bit of time, or factory replacement one for $40.

I've put in a generic one, no probs whatsoever.

Good luck.
